Claoudiaki
A curious spirit—skeptical, playfully polemical, restless. I love imagining what the place I have not yet seen might look like, the story I have never known, the person I have yet to encounter.
Raised within the tradition of classical and humanistic studies, at a certain point I dreamed of the East, feeling the need to cross the Mediterranean, to move mainly south and east, eventually visiting 55 countries.
I studied foreign languages and international relations in Venice, became fascinated with the Russian language and culture, the enigmas of the Russkij mir, the irreconcilable identity tensions of Eurasia, the endless questions of the Middle East, the aftershocks of regime changes, borderlands, and unrecognized states.
From an early age I have loved war reportage and I follow—with a certain obsessiveness—the ambiguities of geopolitics. In this blog I share my travel stories. Writing them makes me happy and gives me hope to spark feelings in those who read them, whether appreciation, apathy, or dissent.
